What is Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is the practice of guided meditation in yoga form. This is meditation while laying in savasana or corpse pose (on your back, eyes closed, arms and legs straight and resting on the ground). During this pose, you participate in a guided meditation that aims to create relaxation and rest for your mind and body. Individuals performing Yoga Nidra, may even drift in and out of sleep during this meditation process.
According to research articles and studies performed on Yoga Nidra, this guided mediation can improve sleep as well as the ability to fall asleep quite well due to the relaxation it creates in the individuals performing it.
When is this Helpful and Who is This For?
If you have trouble slowing down your mind at bed time, have racing thoughts or anxiety late at night, or wake up feeling tired and unrested, this is a very healthy way to improve these things as well as assist in falling asleep more quickly.
Sleep is one of the most important pieces of health for people, and so often overlooked. Sleep is the time that the body heals, rebuilds, allows the mind to rest for you to wake up rested, sharp, and ready to go each day.
