Most people in a caregiver role, are caring for loved ones, family, or friends and have none or very little healthcare background.
This section of Guardians at Home, is to give you as the caregiver, knowledge to best assist your loved ones. Assistance in general movement, bed mobility, standing, sitting, or walking is a daily challenge. During these tasks, are the times your loved ones are most likely to fall or get hurt. With some education in this area, you can take those high risk situations that you dread, and turn them into low risk daily tasks.
It is important to understand that communication with your loved one is a very important step. If possible, when helping them, over communicate with them so you avoid hurting them and so they know what you are doing before you do it.
Following these directions in the text and videos will help keep you and your loved one safe.
